Memorandum of Cooperation signed by Kamkor Management of Kazakhstan and UVZ

On the opening day of the 16-th International exhibition and conference on freight traffic, transport and logistics “TRANSRUSSIA 2011” at the booth of  URALVAGONZAVOD Corporation  Memorandum of Cooperation was signed by Kamkor Management ofKazakhstanand UVZ.  Oleg Sienko, CEO of UVZ, defined the signature of the memorandum as one of the most important and essential events. He emphasized that this cooperation is promising for both parties.

The object of the memorandum is partnership on development of rail wagon manufacturing, steelmaking, service maintenance, as well as joint innovation projects in the sphere of rail transport.

The memorandum envisages transfer and exchange of technical documentation and regulatory documents, development of innovative technologies and implementation of joint innovation projects in the sphere of rail transport.

Thus, production of rolling stock to cater for the needs of the Republic of Kazakhstan will be launched on the basis of Kazakh Wagon Manufacturing Company, the product range including but not limited to 12-9846 and 12-132 gondola cars with 18-100 two-axle bogie, as well as 12-196 new generation gondola cars with axle load of 25 tons per axle and tank containers for liquid gas transportation. All this rolling stock has been designed at Uralvagonzavod.

At the site of Kazakh joint stock company “Vostokmashzavod” production of castpieces (light, medium-sized and heavy castings) will be organized.For this purpose UVZ experts will  conduct a technical audit of the enterprise.

The issue of URALVAGONZAVOD participation in the capital stock of JSC “Vostokmashzavod” and LLP “Kazakh Wagon Manufacturing Company” will be examined thereafter.

Besides, the memorandum includes such issues as implementation of a joint project on service maintenance and repair of rolling stock operating on 1520 track gage, examination of the problem of freight transportation by wagons with adjustable wheel pairs and creation of an engineering centre focusing on freight rail car manufacturing and many other issues.

 All these activities are aimed at search of new technical and technological solutions which will correspond to modern requirements of rail transport, as well as at increasing output and range of both serial and innovative products.

LLC “Kamkor Management” group of companies is the leader in repair of rail transport on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan. At present  LLC “Kamkor Management” is a contributor of capital in LLC “Central Asia Protrans”; parts of stake in 12 repair enterprises are transferred in trust of  LLC “Kamkor Management”. In their turn the mentioned 12 enterprises participate in operation of 27 legal entities (subsidiaries and affiliated companies).
